Yeosu 1 Night, 2 Days Part 1 | Night Sea, Food & Cable Car 🌙

Yeosu is a seaside city in southern Korea, famous for its ocean views, seafood, and especially its night scenery.
There is even a famous Korean song called “Yeosu Night Sea” by Busker Busker, and for a while, many Koreans traveled to Yeosu with that song in mind — sometimes literally listening to it on the way there. ㅎㅎ
One of the places that best matches that romantic image is Yeosu Nangman Pocha Street.
“Nangman” means romance, so the name is basically Romantic Pocha Street.
People come here at night for seafood, drinks, and a walk beside the sea.
If you already have someone you love, come together.
And if you do not…
maybe you can come hoping for a new romance. ㅎㅎ
🐱 : “Meong, maybe people come here hoping to find love.”
🐶 : “Then I’m lucky. I already came with mine.”
🐱 : “…That was too sweet.”
That was the calm and romantic Yeosu we imagined before the trip.
Our actual schedule, however, was not calm at all.
Our Yeosu Trip Begins
Nyang finished class at noon, and as soon as class ended, we left for Yeosu.
Exam season was getting closer, so there were probably many responsible things Nyang could have done.
Studying, for example.
But there was also the sea.
🐱 : “Professor, goodbye… Nyang is going to see the sea now!!! ㅎㅎ”
We arrived in Yeosu at around 4 PM.
And our very busy 1-night, 2-day trip began.

First Stop: Yi Sun-sin Square

Our first stop was Yi Sun-sin Square.
There were lots of restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and snack shops around the area, so it felt like an easy place to begin our Yeosu trip.
And of course, the first thing we did was look for something to eat.
Norang Gorae — Our First Yeosu Snack

Nyang had seen Norang Gorae recommended by the Korean YouTuber “Yeosu Unnie,” so this was one of the first places she wanted to try in Yeosu.
Their cheese doughnut is one of the most popular items, so we ordered that first, along with a red bean doughnut and a small cup of condensed milk for dipping.
The cheese doughnut was 1,700 KRW (about $1.27 USD), the red bean doughnut was 1,400 KRW (about $1.04 USD), and the condensed milk was 500 KRW (about $0.37 USD).

Nyang thought they were tasty.
But Meong really, really liked them. ㅎㅎ
Nyang had never seen him enjoy this kind of fried snack so much before, and after a while, watching Meong eat became more entertaining than eating the doughnut itself.
🐱 : “Meong… do you really like it that much?”
🐶 : “It’s really good ㅎㅎ”
The condensed milk also went surprisingly well with the warm fried dough.
It was only a small snack, but watching Meong enjoy it so much made it a very cute start to our Yeosu trip.

Our tip: Try the doughnuts while they are still warm, and add the condensed milk if you like sweeter snacks.
Dinner at Nangman Jogae Pocha
For dinner, we went to Nangman Jogae Pocha, where we could eat shellfish while looking out at the Yeosu night view.

We ordered the unlimited shellfish course for 37,000 KRW per person (about $27.50 USD) and a bottle of Byeolbit Cheongha for 6,000 KRW (about $4.50 USD).
The table also came with several side dishes, including rabokki and stir-fried meat with bean sprouts.
They were nice to have, but honestly, we would recommend saving your stomach for the shellfish.
Our favorite was the blood cockles.
We liked them so much that we refilled them twice. ㅎㅎ

Having a drink together on the terrace, with the lights of Yeosu in front of us, was a lovely way to spend the evening.
But there was one part we were disappointed with.
The table, surrounding area, and especially the restroom did not feel as clean as we would have liked.
The shellfish was good and we enjoyed the night view, but because of the cleanliness, this is not a place we would strongly recommend.
Still, the time itself was nice.
A little alcohol, a lot of shellfish, and Meong sitting across from Nyang with the Yeosu night sea behind him.
That part, Nyang liked. 🐱💛
Quick Info
📍 Address: 159 Yi Sun-sin Gwangjang-ro, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, South Korea
🕐 Opening hours: 17:00 – 02:00
🍽️ What we ordered: Unlimited shellfish — 37,000 KRW per person (about $27.50 USD) / Byeolbit Cheongha — 6,000 KRW (about $4.50 USD)
✨ Best for: Shellfish and drinks with a Yeosu night view
Our tip: There are quite a few side dishes, but the shellfish was the highlight for us. Save some room for refills — especially if you like blood cockles.
A Night Walk Through Yeosu Nangman Pocha Street
After dinner, we had eaten a lot and had a little to drink, so we decided to walk toward Jasan Station before taking the cable car.
It was about a 30-minute walk from the Yi Sun-sin Square area.
And this was also when we finally walked through the Nangman Pocha Street we mentioned earlier.

At night, the area really came alive.
Bright signs lined the street, people were eating seafood and drinking together, and couples and groups of friends were slowly walking beside the water.
Earlier, we said Yeosu has a romantic night-sea atmosphere.
This was the moment we actually felt it.
After eating and drinking, we simply walked together and looked at the sea.
Nothing particularly special was happening.
But somehow, that was what made it nice.
The dark water, the lights reflecting on it, the sound of people talking nearby…
It finally felt like the “Yeosu Night Sea” we had heard about for so long.
If you come here with someone you love, we definitely recommend leaving a little time just to walk.
And if you came hoping to find that new romance we mentioned earlier…
Nyang cannot guarantee anything.
But at least the atmosphere is doing its best to help. ㅎㅎ
And Then… Fireworks 🎆
While we were walking toward Jasan Station, fireworks suddenly appeared over the water.
We had not checked a schedule.
We did not even know there would be fireworks that night.
They just appeared in front of us.
So naturally…
🐱 : “Meong, did Yeosu know we were coming and set off fireworks for us?!”
🐶 : “Maybe Yeosu wanted to welcome our Nyang ㅎㅎ”
🐱 : “See?! I knew it!”
Of course, Nyang decided to believe Meong’s version.
It was much more romantic that way.
And because we had not planned to see the fireworks at all, they became one of those little travel memories that stayed with us more than expected.

By the time we reached Jasan Station, we had walked off some of dinner, sobered up a little, and enjoyed one of our favorite parts of the Yeosu night.
And now it was time to see that night sea from above.
Next stop: Yeosu Marine Cable Car. 🚠
Yeosu Marine Cable Car at Night 🚠
At Jasan Station, we boarded the Yeosu Marine Cable Car and took a one-way ride toward Dolsan Station.
The fare was 14,000 KRW per person (about $10.40 USD).
And honestly, the night view was beautiful.
The sea below was almost completely dark, while the coastline and buildings were covered in little lights.
From above, Yeosu looked very different from the streets we had just been walking through.
Nyang was glued to the window.
Meong, meanwhile, was doing his best to be brave. ㅎㅎ
He really does not like heights, and scary rides are definitely not his thing.
The Viking?
Absolutely not.
But because Nyang wanted to ride the cable car, he still came with her.
🐱 : “Meong, it’s sooo pretty ㅎㅎ”
🐶 : “Nyang is prettier.”
…
Nyang may have looked at the view a little less after that.

What we especially liked was that the cable car fit naturally into our route.
We walked from the Yi Sun-sin Square area to Jasan Station, crossed over to Dolsan by cable car, and then took a taxi to our accommodation.
So it was not just sightseeing.
It also helped us move across the city.
Pretty and practical.
Nyang approves. ㅎㅎ

Our tip: If your accommodation is on the Dolsan side, taking the cable car one way can be a really nice way to end your evening route.
A Quiet Ending at Sunhill Spa Pension
After the cable car ride, we took a taxi to Sunhill Spa Pension.
By this point, we had already walked a lot, eaten a lot, and done quite a bit in just a few hours.
So the spa felt perfect.
Warm water.
Tired legs.
No more walking.
Finally. ㅎㅎ
We relaxed for a while and let the day slow down.
And even though we arrived at night, the accommodation became much more memorable the next morning, when we finally saw the sea view in daylight.
We will come back to that in Part 2.

Our tip: If you arrive after dark like we did, make sure to look outside again in the morning. The sea view in daylight was one of our favorite parts of the stay.
One Last Thing Before Bed: Harim Mexican Dakgangjeong 🍗
At this point, a normal couple would probably have gone to sleep.
We ordered more food.
Of course. ㅎㅎ
Before coming to Yeosu, we had heard several times that Harim Mexican dakgangjeong was good, so we decided to try it as our late-night snack.
And Nyang understood the hype immediately.
There was plenty of sauce on the chicken, but the outside was still surprisingly crispy.
That was the best part.
Sweet and sticky on the outside, but still crunchy when you bite into it.
After walking around Yeosu all evening, eating warm dakgangjeong back at the room felt especially good.
🐱 : “Meong… we ate dinner already.”
🐶 : “But Nyang wanted to try this ㅎㅎ”
🐱 : “…That is true.”
A very reasonable conclusion.

And finally, after doughnuts, shellfish, drinks, a long night walk, fireworks, a cable car, a spa, and dakgangjeong…
Day 1 was over.
It had only been a few hours since we arrived in Yeosu.
But somehow, it already felt like we had done enough for an entire trip.
Unfortunately for Meong…
Nyang had plans for the morning.
Very early plans.
7 AM plans.
Because Day 2 meant one thing:
U-World.
End of Day 1
Our first evening in Yeosu had almost everything we had hoped for:
the sea, night views, good food, an unexpected firework show, and a slightly nervous Meong in a cable car. ㅎㅎ
It was busy, but it felt very Yeosu.
And the next morning?
We were about to make the schedule even worse.
