U-World theme park in Yeosu, South Korea

Yeosu 1 Night, 2 Days Part 2 | U-World, Crab & One Last Dessert Run 🎡🦀🍫

Our first day in Yeosu had already been very full.

We ate, walked along the night sea, saw unexpected fireworks, rode the cable car, relaxed in a spa, and still ended the night with dakgangjeong.

So naturally…

we woke up at 7 AM the next morning.

ㅎㅎ

There was one very important reason.

U-World.

🐱 : “Meong, wake up!!! It’s U-World day!!!”

🐶 : “Our Nyang has been waiting for this since yesterday, hasn’t she? ㅎㅎ Okay, I’m up.”

U-World was the thing Nyang had been looking forward to most on Day 2.

But first…

food.

Morning Sea View, Gukbap, and Bread 🌊🍚🥐

When we looked outside that morning, we finally saw the view we had missed the night before.

The sea was bright under the morning sun, and for a few minutes, everything felt very peaceful.

Morning sea view from Sunhill Spa Pension in Yeosu

🐱 : “Meong… the morning here is so pretty.”

🐶 : “It is. Our Nyang picked a nice place ㅎㅎ”

Nyang could have stayed there a little longer.

But U-World was waiting.

So we quickly got ready and headed back toward Yi Sun-sin Square.

Gwangjang Gukbap

For breakfast, we went to Gwangjang Gukbap and ordered their clam and pork gukbap.

The bowl had large clams on top, with pork and bean sprouts underneath.

Nyang does not usually get especially excited about pork gukbap, but the clams gave the broth a fresher, cleaner taste.

And after all the food and drinks from the night before, a hot bowl of soup felt perfect.

A small Korea note:

Gukbap is one of Korea’s classic comfort foods. People often eat it when they want something warm and filling, and it is also a very common choice for breakfast or after drinking the night before.

Our very official ratings:

🐱 Nyang Michelin: ⭐⭐
🐶 Meong Michelin: ⭐

Different ratings.

Both bowls finished.

Peace maintained. ㅎㅎ

Our tip: If normal pork gukbap feels a little heavy, the clams make this one taste lighter and fresher.

Pita Bakers

Breakfast finished.

We were full.

So naturally…

we went to a bakery.

ㅎㅎ

At Pita Bakers, we bought an an-butter pretzel and a soft chocolate curd roll to take with us to U-World.

Nyang chose the chocolate one.

Obviously.

🐱 : “Chocolate.”

🐶 : “Nyang wants that one, right? ㅎㅎ”

Correct.

We packed both breads and took them with us for later.

With breakfast finished and bread safely packed…

Nyang was ready.

U-WORLD!!!

U-World — The Day Nyang Had Been Waiting For 🎡✨

The moment we arrived at U-World, Nyang’s energy level doubled.

🐱 : “Meong!!! We’re finally here!!!”

🐶 : “Our Nyang is really excited today ㅎㅎ”

🐱 : “We haven’t even started yet!!!”

We had booked Gold Passes in advance for 50,900 KRW per person (about $37.90 USD).

We chose the pass without the famous Roll Glider because Meong really does not enjoy scary rides.

A very reasonable relationship compromise.

We played Laser Arena, rode the luge, tried shooting, visited the Teddy Bear Museum, and stopped to eat the breads we had bought that morning.

The highlight?

Laser Arena.

Nyang somehow finished first place.

Very clearly first.

ㅎㅎ

Meong congratulated her sweetly…

but Nyang could almost see his invisible puppy tail slowly drooping behind him.

Thankfully, he won both shooting games later.

Invisible tail restored.

Balance returned to the universe.

Our tip: Check exactly which attractions are included before choosing your pass.

And then…

we made one mistake.

The 5D That Defeated Both of Us

We went into the 5D attraction thinking:

“One more thing, then we’ll keep playing.”

A very optimistic thought.

The screen moved.

The chairs moved.

Our stomachs moved.

Possibly our souls moved too.

Meong already gets motion sick easily, so he felt terrible afterward.

But even Nyang, who usually handles motion fairly well, was completely defeated.

🐱 : “Meong… Nyang thinks the world is still moving.”

🐶 : “Let’s sit somewhere for a while. I’ll stay with you until you feel better.”

We ended up leaving U-World earlier than planned.

But that little disaster led us somewhere we had not planned at all.

Plan B — Our Accidental Recovery Stop 🎲☕

We still had some time before dinner, so we searched for somewhere to sit and recover.

That was how we found Plan B.

The café was cute, cozy, and most importantly…

the floor was not moving.

🐱 : “Meong, the floor is staying still this time.”

🐶 : “That already makes this place perfect ㅎㅎ”

Nyang ordered hot peppermint tea, Meong had peach iced tea, and we shared a cocoa Levain cookie.

There were even little marble candies at the counter, and somehow the sugar made Nyang feel slightly more alive again.

Then we found the board games.

Resting quietly lasted about five minutes.

Nyang won Splendor.

Invisible tail: down.

Meong won both rounds of Omok.

Invisible tail: up again.

ㅎㅎ

What started as an accidental stop became one of the nicest little breaks of the trip.

🕐 Opening hours: 10:00 AM–9:00 PM

✨ Best for: Taking a break with drinks and board games

Our tip: If you need somewhere to rest between U-World and dinner, this is a nice stop to sit down, recover, and play a few board games.

After a couple of games, we were finally feeling human again.

Which was good.

Because it was time for crab.

Kkotdol Gejang 1beonga — Our Last Big Meal in Yeosu 🦀

We arrived at Kkotdol Gejang 1beonga at around 4:50 PM.

The restaurant reopened after break time at 5 PM, and our waiting number was 93.

That looked slightly terrifying.

But the restaurant is large and turnover was much faster than we expected.

By around 5:10 PM, we were already inside.

We also learned that it seemed possible to register for the waiting list during break time.

If we had known that earlier, we would have registered before going to Plan B.

We ordered Kkotge Jeongseok — 35,000 KRW per person (about $26.10 USD).

There was soy-marinated crab, spicy marinated crab, shrimp, crab soup, fried crab, bulgogi, seaweed, and plenty of side dishes.

And the rice bowls were much bigger than we expected.

A small Korea note:

Soy-marinated crab is often called a “rice thief” in Korea. It means the flavor is so strong and delicious that you suddenly realize you have eaten far more rice than you planned. ㅎㅎ

And then Meong started doing what Meong always does.

Taking care of Nyang.

Nyang would finish picking meat out of a crab shell and think:

Done.

Meong would take it, look inside, and somehow find another big piece of crab meat.

🐱 : “Meong!!! I already ate everything in there!”

Apparently not.

ㅎㅎ

He even kept giving Nyang the roe and rich innards from the shells.

Eventually Nyang became more worried about Meong eating his own dinner than about her own bowl.

🐱 : “Meong!!! Please eat yours too!!!”

But that is Meong.

Even when he loves the food himself, he still wants Nyang to have the good bites.

And that made the meal feel even warmer.

✨ Best for: A big marinated crab meal in Yeosu

Our tip: If waiting registration is open during break time, register early and use the extra time somewhere nearby.

By the time we left…

we were completely full.

Which obviously meant one thing.

Dessert shopping.

One Last Trip Back to Yi Sun-sin Square 🍡🍫

Our Yeosu trip was almost over.

But Meong and Nyang were not going to the station empty-handed.

We went back to Yi Sun-sin Square for one final mission:

bring something delicious back to Seoul.

Yeosu Bomnalen

Nyang had seen Yeosu Bomnalen many times on Instagram and had wanted to try their rice cakes for ages.

Meong had even offered to order them for delivery before.

But every time Nyang saw the rice cake price plus shipping fee…

she changed her mind.

This time?

We were already in Yeosu.

Different rules. ㅎㅎ

We bought:

  • Yogurt Pong — 18,000 KRW (about $13.40 USD)
  • Choco Pong — 18,000 KRW (about $13.40 USD)
  • Cooler bag — 1,500 KRW (about $1.10 USD)

Total: 37,500 KRW (about $27.90 USD)

A small Korea note:

Pretty, modern rice-cake desserts like these have become very shareable on Korean social media, especially Instagram. They feel less like traditional rice cakes and more like trendy gift desserts.

Nyang had seen them online so many times that finally buying them felt a little like:

“Ah, I finally get to try that thing.”

And something shocking happened later.

Chocolate-loving Nyang actually preferred the Yogurt Pong.

A small identity crisis.

ㅎㅎ

Yeosudang — One Last Chocolate Soboro

Before going to the station, we also stopped at Yeosudang.

Nyang saw a chocolate soboro.

That was enough.

She loves the chocolate soboro from Seongsimdang, so there was almost no chance she was walking past this one.

🐱 : “Meong… Nyang cannot leave this here.”

🐶 : “Then it should come with us ㅎㅎ”

A very supportive answer.

Quick Info — Yeosudang

📍 Address: 72 Jungang-ro, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, South Korea
🕐 Hours: 7:30 AM–11:00 PM on most days, with Saturday closing around 10:00 PM;
✨ Best for: A quick snack or dessert around Yi Sun-sin Square

Desserts secured.

Now we really had to leave.

Chocolate Soboro on the Train — Goodbye, Yeosu 🚆🌊

After starting the day at 7 AM, eating gukbap, buying bread, running around U-World, being destroyed by 5D, recovering with board games, eating a huge crab dinner, and buying dessert…

we finally boarded the train.

But Nyang still had one last thing left to eat.

The Yeosudang chocolate soboro.

ㅎㅎ

Yeosudang’s version had chocolate cream inside.

The Seongsimdang chocolate soboro Nyang loves has red bean filling.

So although both are chocolate soboro, they have completely different charms.

Yeosudang was richer and more chocolatey.

Which obviously worked very well for Nyang.

🐱 : “They’re both delicious, so Nyang will just eat both.”

Problem solved.

And then the train began to move.

Yeosu slowly disappeared behind us.

After such a busy two days…

everything suddenly became quiet.

Goodbye for Now, Yeosu 💛

It had only been one night and two days.

But somehow, it felt like we had made so many memories.

As the train moved farther away from Yeosu, Nyang felt a little sad.

We probably would not have a reason to come back for a while.

So it really felt like:

“Ah… it’s actually over now.”

But more than anything, Nyang was happy.

Not because we managed to visit so many places.

Not because we ate so many good things.

But because Meong had been beside her through all of it.

🐱 : “Meong, should we make our next trip a little more relaxed?”

🐶 : “Let’s do everything our Nyang wants to do ㅎㅎ”

🐱 : “Then it might turn into another boot camp trip…!”

ㅎㅎ

Our 1-night, 2-day Yeosu trip is officially over.

It was busy, delicious, slightly dizzy, and very, very happy.

Someday, Nyang wants to come back to Yeosu with Meong again. 🐶🐱💛
